The idea of an online store with a p2p ideology
The theme of the post was inspired by listening to the latest Radio-T podcast, or rather, the news that the new owners of Pirate Bay are going to make torrents paid, whatever that means from their point of view.
The idea spun in my head for a while, after which it degenerated into a thought. I’m unlikely to do this myself, but if someone finds the idea useful, I will be glad.
Tracker technology is great for selling software (in fact, not only software, but generally any content in electronic form). This is implemented in an elementary way: it’s enough to organize a tracker instead of the usual download server with content and software, after which the following becomes possible:
The user buys software (okay, a unit of electronic content) at a regular price, that is, without any discounts. He receives a torrent file and downloads the purchased one, after which he himself gets up for distribution (or does not get up; for him, in this case, the purchase is no different from the one made in a regular online store).
And here the fun begins. When selling a product through a resource at a regular price, the seller agrees that he will receive funds in the amount of (price minus wholesale discount) - in most cases this discount can reach (20-25)%. But this discount is shared between the Internet tracker the store and the users standing on the distribution - the “layout” from which of the users how many specific customers uploaded it is extremely easy to get.
As a result, buyers, "distributing" content receive money for distribution, and the store minimizes their own traffic. At the same time, no one bothers the store owner in the same way to stand on the distribution and receive additional funds. Well, but as an added bonus, a (not) large community may appear, making money on distributions and, accordingly. interested in the wide promotion of the resource.
I apologize if it turned out a little messy. If anyone is interested - knock, I will try to formulate more clearly. Well, and if necessary, we will count together.
