Clearing the desktop (the one on which the keyboard is)
The appearance of Evernote on the computer leads to a critical decrease in the amount of leaflets, stickers, and other scribbled papers torn from the notebook on the desktop. A similar fate befalls pockets. If this did not happen in your case, and the stream of paper scraps with a variety of lists and phone numbers becomes less and less manageable, then it's time to start using Evernote 100%.
Instead of a paper heap, it’s better to place a scanner on the table, which everyone will probably find, but most of them have long turned into a dust collector. Meanwhile, we, it seems to us, have found a very convenient way to scan a variety of papers directly in Evernote, which should work for most scanners. The following will describe the method for Mac, but there is a similar method for Windows.
The instructions are quite simple:
1. Launch “Image Capture” - this is a free application included with OS X (/ Applications / Image Capture)
2. If your scanner is supported (and enabled) you will see a window similar to the one in the screenshot below.
3. Select scan region by expanding the rectangle on the preview.
4. Set the scan quality: black-and-white or color photo (what exactly is scanned depends on it)
5. Invent and enter a name for the document.
6. Select PNG or JPEG format. If you choose PDF, keep in mind that Evernote does not recognize images in PDF documents.
7. Select “Evernote” as Automatic Task is the key.
8.Click the Scan button - that’s all.
In the future, all you have to do is set the scan area and give names to the documents. Other settings will be set by default.
As a result, all scanned documents will be sent directly to Evernote with the headers you enter. All notes will be searchable thanks to the text recognition system in Evernote.
We hope this method will finally allow you to clear your workspace from unnecessary papers.
