GadgetBlog.ru - another blog about gadgets?
Good afternoon, dear community! For almost 3 years now, I and a couple of people have been blogging about a variety of electronic devices, fetishes and nishtyaki. We like it, we do it for ourselves, write with love for what we write about.
At this point, thousands of bloggers are looking at me askance, which essentially are no different from me. And I completely agree with this - today only the lazy one does not write about what he really likes. Only there is one “but”.
“To start is half the battle!” Says one clever proverb. In our business, installing Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, or any other engine is easy. Ten minutes later, everything is ready, configured and sent the first test post. After a couple of months, the fuse disappears and you have to look for sources of income - banner or contextual advertising, custom posts, sales links, finally. If the lucky author is also lucky, the blog “survives”. But even in this case, after n-months, a year and a half, there comes a moment when the flow of visitors becomes stable, and you understand that you are unlikely to squeeze more out of your “diary”.
Almost the same happened to me. In 2006, there were not many sites about gadgets, and blogs became more and more popular. It was in this wave that I decided to start my own GadgetBlog. The site quickly gained momentum, search engines fell in love with it, everything went well. First I found one author, later another. Income from advertising paid for all the costs of the blog, but no more. After 2 years, I realized that I could hardly squeeze out more, but I did not want to invest a lot of money in a hobby.
With a little thought, I saw the reason - there were darkness of similar blogs, some of them were abandoned, some were frankly merging content from each other, some were trying to stand out from the general heap. Wordpress has become an ideal.
That is why I decided to write an engine that would fully satisfy my needs. The plans included ease for the server, simplicity for the user, digestibility for search engines, and more. At first they helped with the design, but then he himself “painted” it all the same. There were more ideas, after the implementation of one, two more appeared from her, I liked them all. Layout and programming on their own. For everything about everything 2-3 months. And even at the moment, ideas appear in my head and from time to time unrealized “chips” are recalled.
The way he is right now suits me. Blogging again was a pleasure. Who is interested - please evaluate the merits and point out the shortcomings. Always happy to criticize.
