What do you call a boat ...
Since ancient times, there was a belief that if you give a place a name, it will find its soul and become alive. And the one who gives the name will become the owner of this place. Therefore, we decided to give names to very important places where we have to spend a lot of time - meeting rooms in the future new HP office in the Metropolis complex on Leningradskoye Shosse 16.
In the new HP building, Russia will occupy the top three floors, on each of which will have several conference rooms. They are divided into two large groups: for internal and external meetings. We will also have one large room with moving partitions for the free organization of space and one room for especially important meetings.
For each of these groups, we decided to choose our own topic for the names and announced a collection of ideas among the employees. How nice it was to see that on the first day several dozens of proposals were received, some with detailed comments. Among the ideas there were both the fruits of a flight of fantasy (“medicinal herbs of the middle lane of Russia”, “brands of Soviet and Russian cars”, “stations of the Trans-Siberian Railway”, etc.), and extremely rational options - to name rooms strictly by numbers, so that and forever eliminate confusion and room searches according to the floor plan.
Voting, which was announced on the internal site after collecting ideas, has not yet been completed, and now several options for names go face to face: "names of stars", "great scientists of the world" and "old streets of Moscow" for interior rooms, "the river of Russia "," The great Russian scientists "and" the names of planets and asteroids "- for the outside. A large room with equal chances can be called the Kremlin or Russia, and a special room can be called the Moon or Moscow.
As you can see, the names are very different, and the mood that they will create will also be very different. And even if faith in the magical power of names is just superstition, then the fun we all get from the process is a fact.
