External 4 TB HDD My Book

Western Digital's My Book line of external hard drives includes a new 4-terabyte model . My Book Studio Edition II, called WDH2Q40000, is two 3.5-inch hard drives integrated into a RAID 0 array. It works, according to WD, for both PC and Mac. In advance, however, the drive is formatted for Mac. Software tools and instructions for reformatting for Windows are included.

3.5-inch drives are WD GreenPower, which are characterized by low heat and consume, according to the developers, 30% less energy compared to competitors. Accordingly, WDH2Q40000 does not need a fan. So it’s quiet.

The device is equipped with a fill indicator, supports the function of automatically turning on and off with the computer. In addition, it provides for the “system” Safe Shutdown, which prevents blackouts during data recording. Connects to a computer via FireWire 800, FireWire 400, eSATA and USB 2.0.

Another good thing: you do not need to disassemble it to upgrade the device. It is enough to open the cover and change the discs.

The cost of My Book Studio Edition II WDH2Q40000 is about $ 650. You can buy already.
