About plastic cards and shops

You can consider this story from different angles, but for the most part it is a small piece of bile, infused for several days after the recent purchase of a small digital device worth about 30 thousand rubles.

    But it was like that.

Suddenly, we desperately needed a digital SLR camera. And it just so happened that at that very moment another trouble happened - cash ran out. Those. in a certain amount they were present, but this quantity was not enough to buy. Nevertheless, there was a credit plastic card in the wallet on which the necessary finances were.

And I conceived, by a sinful thing, the impossible (as it turned out later): to find through Yandex.Market or Price.ru an acceptable price for me on the camera I need, come to the store I found and pay for the purchase with a card.

Why a card, you ask? Because in our fast-moving age of technology, it’s very cool to pay for some things with a non-cash transaction, since it eliminates the need to have large amounts of money with you and reduces the risk of accidentally staying without that money.

Why then the impossible, you ask? And because in our fast-moving age of technology, most stores deprive customers of the opportunity to pay for goods other than in cash.

I visited more than 20 websites of small and medium-sized stores selling digital equipment and phoned the same number - and they all told me that they accept only cash as payment. But most of all I was struck by Pleer.ru store, which posted on one of the pages of its website a link to the text, why use cashmore economical and offering to receive cash at an ATM located on the territory of the store. Could it be that the store management simply does not know about the fees charged by banks for cashing out funds from the card? Where is the profitability here?

Most recently, I returned from Egypt, where I was convinced that almost every shopkeeper selling beads and other souvenir products would gladly accept your non-cash payment for their goods. So why in Russia (and not somewhere in the outback, but in Moscow) with such problems? After all, how much is written about the merits of plastic cards , and credit cards are issued at every step.

I know that among readers of Habr there are a lot of people engaged in entrepreneurial activities related to the sale of goods to consumers. And I turn to you: use the terminals to receive payments with plastic cards and make this payment tool more accessible for buyers. Who knows, maybe at the moment someone is considering the assortment of goods presented on your website and hopes that even though you are from the hundreds of stores that were viewed earlier, you will agree to sell him the right thing, without requiring to bring a lot of pieces of paper with you.
