Times Square Walking Role
On May 25, a hitherto unprecedented event took place in New York - Times Square, famous for its traffic jams, endless neon signs and the Spider-Man flying over it, became accessible only for pedestrians. Now tourists and locals are located on the square in sun loungers.

This decision was made in February by the mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg. Traffic is closed on sections between 42nd and 47th Streets in Times Square and 33rd and 35th Streets in Herald Square. The exclusion of any type of transport should lead, in the opinion of the authorities, to improve air in the city center, simplify traffic, reduce accidents,PROFIT! and the convenience of tourists.
Traffic at the “crossroads of the world” will be limited at least until the end of the year, after which, depending on the results, this practice of introducing pedestrian zones will be continued and expanded or closed.
“Only now can you see Times Square for real,” residents say. Tams Square, not Thymes Square, but on June 7 in this pedestrian area of about a hectare you can definitely see the broadcast of the Tony ceremony, the main American award in the field of musical theaters, on giant screens.
“This is good for transport, good for business, and, we believe, it will be just great,” says Janet Sadik-Khan, head of the transport department of the New York City Administration, to the chief.
Although taxi drivers consider this whole venture with the overlapping of the center stupid and shortsighted.
