SP2 for Vista removes the limit on the number of half-open connections
In a Microsoft Knowledge Base article , it officially confirmed that the limit on the number of simultaneous half-open connections in Windows Server 2008 SP2 and Windows Vista SP2 has been removed. The author of the popular TCP-Z utility wrote about this in his blog .
However, if you need to enable this limit, you just need to create the registry parameter HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Tcpip \ Parameters \ EnableConnectionRateLimiting with a value of 1 or just run the reg file . This registry entry only works on Windows Vista / Server 2008 SP2 and Windows 7.
