QIP has ceased to be quiet and is engaged in advertising.
Today in the morning after coming to work I found a pop-up window in which QIP informed about the availability of a new version of the messenger and other services of the qip.ru site .
I remember something similar in ICQ. I got into the settings and, indeed, in the “General” tab, a new item appeared “Notify about the news of the QIP project and its services”.
I hope that unchecking will help to remove these spurious windows. Of course, the developers’s interest in attracting people to services is understandable, but it seemed already obsessive. It seems that QIP is slowly coming out of the role of a “quiet” messenger without ads.
