Already 8% of international calls go through Skype

    The share of Skype in international voice traffic has grown to 8%, according to the 2008 statistical report of TeleGeography . Thus, in just a year, Skype increased its stake by 41%. Now it is the de facto largest service in the world for international communications. No telecom can compare with it.

    In general, the international call market is developing quite interesting. Despite the spread of IM, email and so on. communication channels, the volume of voice international calls every year only grow. Last year, they grew by 12%. However, in monetary terms, the market volume remained the same, the reason for which is rather rapidly falling prices.

    In just a year, the inhabitants of the Earth spoke 417 billion minutes through international channels. Of these, about 33 billion passed through Skype, including 8.4 billion minutes through the paid SkypeOut service.
