BigDog goes to the army

    army dog
The news appeared on the Web that trial samples of the BigDog troops support robot will be sent to Afghanistan to be tested at the scene of the fighting.
On a habr already wrote about this wonderful machine . And there was even a link to a parody movie .
However, a year has passed since then and the guys from Boston Dynamics are not standing still, apparently the load capacity has been increased from 50 kg to 150 kg, and even those samples that have fallen into the army, I think they don’t make any noise anymore, because a sound of 100 decibels is able to scare away all souls for many kilometers in the district.

    Found TTX of this miracle:
    • Weight 75 kg
    • The maximum speed is 5.4 - 6.4 km / h
    • Payload 150 kg
    • Height 0.7 meters
    • 1.3 meters long
    • Able to overcome slopes of 35 degrees
    • Equipped with a single-stroke gasoline engine that maintains pressure in the robot hydraulics
    • To maintain balance and choose a path, a system of laser gyroscopes, binocular vision, plus a bunch of various sensors to determine the position of the limbs and analyze the "health" of the robot are used.

The robot can move as if it were autonomous, with the on-board computer taking control of the type of surface on which the movement occurs (asphalt, snow, dirt, ice, etc.), and choosing the most suitable movement algorithm, or controlled from the remote control .
One of the latest videos demonstrating the possibilities:

PS: In addition to BigDog, Boston Dynamics has some more interesting developments:

PPS: IMHO makes a bewitching and creepy impression.
