Startup Idea: open-source music

    At the moment there are a lot of services on the network, the main theme of which is music and everything that accompanies it (Last.fm social network, Pandora radio are the brightest examples). All of them are intended primarily for listening to music and sharing it between users.

    The question arises: if there is a service for consuming and disseminating some information, why not a service for creating it?

    The essence of the idea is to create a resource uniting musicians from all over the world, continent or country (underline as necessary), and allowing them to create music together, meeting and communicating while only on the network.

    An approximate idea of the mechanism of the service:

    A certain person (let's call him a conductor, although this is not entirely true) creates an ad in which he sets the style, pace, tonality, general scheme and other characteristics of the future track + a list of musicians that he needs.

    Tentative type of announcement:
    “To record a small blues track you need a rhythm guitarist, slide guitarist, drummer and harper. The key is E major, the tempo is 120 quarters per minute, the size is 4/4, the standard blues rhythm guitar circuit is TTSTDSTS.
    The general scheme is 8 beats of a simple rhythm guitar, then 16 beats of a solo guitar on an accordion, then a smooth transition to a slide (32 beats), then a change in the rhythm guitar’s battle, then a slide and an accordion play in unison (16 beats) and at the end - gradual sound attenuation. For a complete understanding, see the attached blues.gtp file(whoever is in the tank opens with the Guitar Pro program.) "

    After the announcement of this announcement, musicians who know how and want to play the blues begin to record the corresponding tracks at home (the harper sits with an accordion at the microphone, guitarists record riffs and solos, etc.). ), after which they send the finished product in a comment to the announcement of the conductor.

    Having received the tracks for each instrument, the conductor selects the best of them in terms of timbre and overall sound, mixes, cuts and mixes. The finished track is then published on the site to the delight of all blues fans.

    I foresee the following problems:
    • a large load on the server (because each track weighs a little less than a song);
    • a low influx of people playing various instruments (although advertising on amdm.ru and several near-music forums should solve this);
    • eternal holivars between lovers of different styles of music (solved by strict categorization of ads);
    • ???? (I probably missed something, and this is a place for updates after reading the comments :)

    Here, in fact, the whole idea for a new startup. What do you say, Khabrovites? Is a thought good and will someone do it?

    (post scriptum: I am a weak programmer myself, so all I can do is throw shit on the fan to submit an idea and hope that someone will implement it :)
