Audiotag.info - new music recognition service

Alexander Radzishevsky, the owner of the well-known resource www.websound.ru , recently opened the AudioTag service , which allows you to find out the name of the artist and the name of the composition from a small fragment of the composition - it is enough to download only a 15-30 second passage (or the whole composition).

The service is based on a sophisticated audio recognition engine, combining audio fingerprint technology and a large base of audio and music data. When you download a file, a special algorithm converts it into the so-called “audio fingerprint”, which is used to search the database. As a result of this recognition, one or more candidate tracks are found that match the processed file with one or another probability.

The author does not disclose the secrets of the algorithm for creating casts and the source of the music base. However, with regard to the first - they already exist (although I don’t understand how this miracle works, but in form it is something like MD5), and on the second question, it was possible that the resources of some “familiar” online store were involved - after all, a million tracks is a lot, and Alex is unlikely to keep so many pops in his personal archive :)
