32nm chips in 2010

After Intel announced that it had invested 7 billion in stone production using the 32nm process, Advanced Micro Devices recalled that it also produces microchips.

According to CEO Dirk Meyer, the company hopes to start manufacturing new chips as early as mid-2010 (Intel has already shown the first prototypes), and full-scale production will only begin in the fourth quarter of next year. It is noteworthy that the release of new 32nm microchips will not be dealt with by AMD itself, but by the recently created Foundry Company - this is precisely what explains such a serious lag behind Intel in creating new processors.

To top it all, another little news came from AMD that “the company does not intend to join the race for technology on a par with Intel,” but something tells me that this is not entirely true in a crisis market. Otherwise, it is easy to guess who will be the first to gnaw consumer bones.
