"Green" 2 terabyte from WD

Western Digital in the very near future (possibly before the end of this week) will begin selling a new 2TB Caviar GreenPower series hard drive.

The new model is characterized by an average search time of 8.9 ms, automatically adjustable spindle speed from 5400 to 7200 rpm and the presence of 32 MB of cache.

Reducing the spindle speed to 5400 rpm will reduce power consumption. For this, in fact, the HDD from WD also received the prefix “green”.

The cost of the drive is $ 224.
