About two different ways to get money

In disputes about the harm of freelancing, an interesting concept was formulated at the local forum: for a web developer, if he wants some interesting prospects, there can be two options: either go to one of the leading companies for a good position and work only there, or work independently .

The main plus of permanent work is, of course, stable income. The second important plus is the opportunity to take part in large projects. The main minus is the amount of your own income directly depends on how well your superiors work and how good the company is in the market. The second important minus is that your role is often defined and unchanged, you have to follow the instructions and instructions, perform official duties.

Hence an important conclusion - work in the company is not needed for someone who agrees to take all the work on the organization of labor and the implementation of its result. Permanent work in the company is needed for those who want more stability in life. Here, the right choice is to work in a leading company, because it gives much more experience and provides real financial stability.

What does “work on my own” mean to me? This is what is called “freelance” in the early stages, and then it should develop into your own business, or stable partnerships with one or more customers.

It’s easy to list the advantages of independent work: it’s social mobility, a flexible schedule, more life experience and generally drive through life :) More money? Not always, but income is always proportional to the work done, and indeed, income almost entirely depends only on you. No one in the world can "call" you into the office and arrange a "thrashing" (again, except for yourself). All your projects are really your projects, the pleasure from the work done is a hundred times greater.

The main minus is that you are always at work and you need to constantly look for orders. There are failed periods when there is little money. Difficulties - you need to pay taxes yourself and do health insurance, you need to be able to communicate with people - with customers, with partners, with assistants, you need to understand the basic economic laws (and in general, get used to thinking everywhere yourself immediately).

In general, there is something that anyone likes.

The big boss from YCombinator wrote in his article (I’ll say not verbatim, but also in meaning): “think, it used to be wild for people that they can live in a city in the middle of a stone and eat food that they did not grow themselves; also now it is considered risky immediately after graduation to create your own company, or to do your own startup. ”

So, society is changing, the basic activity of mankind is changing. A huge concentration of capital is not required to produce an information product, know-how. One good friend of mine once joked: “If you don’t know how to make money, go get a job.” There is some truth in every joke, as you know.
