Firefox Extension Adds Torrents to Amazon.com

A new Firefox extension called Pirates of the Amazon ( Amazon Pirates) turns the world's largest online store into a complete catalog of pirated content. The idea is simple: Amazon Pirates simply add a torrent link to each page of the Amazon.com directory to download this file for free.

Thus, the dream of any freebie lover is brought to the absolute: you go around the store, look at the price tags and select the appropriate film (program, music album, game), and when the choice is made - just take the goods for free by clicking on the “Download 4 free” banner .

The plugin works like Greasemonkey, modifying the page code in the browser. Links to torrents are received from the popular The Pirate Bay tracker .

The official Firefox extension site has been down all day due to increased workload. After that, they posted an announcement that they were no longer distributing the extension, and indeed it was supposedly a research project of university students. However, the xpi file has already been distributed across the Web, and it really works.

By the way, similar "skins" also exist for IMDB.com, Last.fm and others. Most of them are based on Greasemonkey.
