Motorola A1600 Gold Edition on Linux

The gold edition of the Motorola A1600 touchscreen phone was announced on the company's Chinese website. The novelty is made in the spirit of the Motorola V8 Luxury edition, but even its crocodile leather case does not make it vulgar.

This time, Motorola somehow managed to convince the famous French jeweler and watchmaker Cartier to have a hand in the design of the novelty.

It is not entirely clear why right now there is such a huge number of different gold issues of phones, but among all of them the A1600 looks the most attractive.

In addition to its brilliance, the Motorola A1600 Gold is no different from the original model. It also has a 2.4-inch touch QVGA display, displaying 262 thousand colors and a translucent plastic active coating MING. The device runs on Linux and supports four bands GSM / GPRS / EDGE.

The Motorola A1600 also has a 3-megapixel camera, a microSD memory expansion slot (up to 4GB), stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), a microUSB port and a stereo FM receiver. And, of course, its most striking characteristic is the built-in GPS receiver, which allows not only using navigation, but also geotagging photos (linking to a place on the map).

    Update:

The American mobile vendor Motorola, in collaboration with the French watch manufacturer Cartier, introduced the updated MING A1600 model - the elite MING A1600 Luxury Edition mobile phone, made in the clamshell form factor and in the design style very reminiscent of the Motorola RAZR2 V8 Luxury Edition, which is also sold in Russia.
The body of the image device is trimmed with alligator skin, 18 carat gold, metal accents. The functionality of the MING A1600 has not changed.
When the phone goes on sale in Russia, it is not known - for now, a luxury novelty can only be purchased in Taiwan at a price of about $ 850. Along with the Motorola MING A1600 Luxury Edition, Cartier's signature business card holder is supplied.
