Take screenshots in Mac OS X Leopard (new features!)
You probably already know the keyboard shortcuts that were used in earlier versions of Mac OS X to take a screenshot:
Command-Shift-3: Takes a screenshot of the entire screen and saves it to your desktop.
Command-Shift-4, then select the area: takes a picture of the selected area of the screen and saves it to the desktop.
Command-Shift-4, then the space bar, and click on the window: takes a screenshot of the window you clicked on and saves it to the desktop.
Command-Control-Shift-3: takes a screenshot of the entire screen and saves it to the clipboard.
Command-Control-Shift-4, then select the area: takes a picture of the selected area of the screen and saves it to the clipboard.
Command-Control-Shift-4, then the space bar, and click on the window: takes a screenshot of the window you clicked on and saves it to the clipboard.
In Mac OS X Leopard, the ability to take a picture of the screen is greatly expanded - the following keys can be pressed when selecting an area (with Command-Shift-4 or Command-Control-Shift-4):
“ Space ” to fix the size of the selected area and move it behind the cursor mouse (immediately after selecting the area, do not release the mouse button, press the spacebar and drag the selection area on the screen).
Shiftto change only one border of the selected area (immediately after making the selection, do not release the mouse button, press Shift and drag horizontally, for example, if you need to edit the vertical size, release and press Shift again and drag vertically).
Option to resize the selected area relative to the center point (as soon as the selection is made, press Option (Alt) and drag to increase the size of the selected area relative to its center).
