Firefox 3.1 beta

Mozilla smoothly rolled out the beta version of Firefox 3.1. As they say on Gizode, the killer feature of the new beta is the 3D interface of the tabs and the included TraceMonkey js engine (which must be enabled manually). In addition, Geode is included, but the long-awaited porn mode is missing. And by the way, your plugins will not work in beta yet. Mozilla, in turn, writes: Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 is based on the Gecko 1.9.1 engine, which has been developed over the past 6 months:

    • Gecko meets Web standards even more correctly
    • Added support for CSS 2.1 and CSS 3
    • New tab change window showing their contents (see screenshot)
    • Improved control of the Smart Location Bar using special characters to limit the search
    • Support for new technologies such as video and audio elements, W3C Geolocation API, JavaScript query selectors, web worker threads, SVG transforms and offline applications.

[upd] To activate TraceMonkey, you need to write about: config and set javascript.options.jit.content to True. In addition, as coldFlame pointed out , you can set javascript.options.jit.chrome = true to speed up the user interface by precompiling it.
