How to create a connection between discussions using SIOC

SIOC provides dictionaries for describing content and interaction: a semantic layer that can work with existing discussion platforms. Using SIOC, various links are created with the specified resources, this opens up new data access methods:
  • Virtual forums

This can be a bunch of posts or discussion chains distributed over the discussion platform, for example, when a user finds a certain number of blogs, then agents will offer him blogs with similar topics after a while.
  • Distributed Conversations

A trackback is often used to link a blog post to previous or related topics. By creating links in both directions and not only to the blog, but also for all types of Internet discussions, chains can be used no matter what URI is loaded into the browser,
  • United communities

In addition to creating a web page with a number of links to blogs, forums, or people in a particular society, there is no standard way to determine what constitutes online communities (with the exception of grouping people in FOAF or OPML) SIOC allows you to simply determine which objects are composite parts of the community, or say which community the object belongs to (using sioc: has_part / part_of): users, groups, forums, blogs, etc.
  • Common topics

Technorati (Blog Search Engine) and BoardTracker (for bulletin boards) used a text label system that people attached to their posts. SIOC allows the definition of such tags (using this property), but also allows hierarchical or non-hierarchical definition of topics using sioc: topic, when the topic is ambiguous or more information is needed to describe it. Combined with other web dictionaries, topics and tags can be described using the SKOS organization system.
  • One person, many accounts

SIOC also aims to address the issue of multiple identities by enabling users to determine that they contain other accounts or that their accounts belong to a specific person (via foaf: holdsOnlineAccount or sioc: account_of). Therefore, all posts, or comments made from a particular person, related to the use of different user accounts on different platforms can be determined.
