Modified Mac mini delivers news in an old fashioned way
- Transfer
Nowadays, we have seen many modifications of the Mac mini computer, but this one stands in line with the best of them.

Scott Walker , assistant editor at Birmingham News, has found a truly unique use for his Mac. Using an old eBay newspaper vending machine, an LG 17-inch LCD monitor, special lighting, a Mac mini computer, and AppleScript, he created a digital news stand showing the news flow from the main pages of online publications right in his living room. At the same time, it all looks extremely cool.
Every morning, the iCal alarm clock turns on the computer and launches AppleScript, which in turn takes several shots of various online newspapers (including Birmingham News, of course), cuts them off (using GraphicCoverter), then launches PhotoPresenter slideshow program, which shows the pictures . As a result, we have a sample of the purest “hickering” (geekery). Watch the video below showing the device in action.
