AMD introduced the new ATI Radeon HD 4870 based on the new 55nm RV770 chip, providing up to 1 teraflops (1 trillion floating point operations per second) performance.
The novelty contains 512 MB of GDDR5 video memory with a bandwidth of 3.6 Gb / s and a 256-bit interface. The RV770 processor, under which AMD developed the whole concept of Cinema 2.0, operates at a frequency of 750 MHz. According to AMD, the performance of ATI Radeon HD 4870 is two times higher compared to the cards of the previous generation.
The declared cost of the new ATI Radeon HD 4870 is $ 299.
