Data from a UMD disk, or from a FLASH-memory (almost no difference) is copied to the same RAM, and then roughly “picture” comes from it. Well, this is so, for example, so that you can understand the essence of RAM in the console, that this is really an important thing. Tried to run GTA on FAT, and next to Slim? Accelerate by car and feel the difference. Firstly, on Slim, the movement of the car will be “thicker”, and the models will be loaded much faster.
This is all said as an example, but it all works in absolutely any game. And this is an undeniable plus. Regarding access to TV, as far as I remember, you said that this is basically an unnecessary thing. Have you tried connecting the PSP to a 40-inch LCD TV and enjoy the picture? Moreover, it is possible to watch movies in such a way that, in my opinion, is more than convenient - you can carry a portable multimedia center with you, while watching the same movies anywhere, playing games, and more.
Regarding the weight of the consoles - at my friend's FAT, honestly, I played for half an hour, it starts to “wring” in the hands. Unpleasant, for a heavy console. With Slim, I have been walking a lot for good, and his subtlety is almost annoying. But let's really look at things - PSP Slim, this is the same development, only improved, completed, completed. They added what we needed, removed what we do not need. and what you read on the forums, about how convincingly people kept saying that FAT is better, should not be taken seriously. This works according to the principle “My sandbox is better”, because you need to find an excuse why you will not change your prefix to a new version.
