Probably there were no Habralyuds left who would not hear about Twitter . You can argue for a long time about why it is needed and who uses it, but the facts speak for themselves - this service has an impressive army of fans.
Attempts to repeat the success of Twitter in RuNet have already been made, but it does not seem that they have succeeded. After analyzing the shortcomings of Russian-language clones of Twitter and carefully studying Twitter itself, we developed the SMSter.ru service .
Main features of SMSter:
- emphasis on mobile users. In addition to the SMS interface itself (by the way, since messages are received to a Russian number, they are 2 times cheaper than Twitter messages, at least for MTS and Beeline subscribers) there is a wap.smster.ru WAP interfacerunning on all phones with WAP 2.0 and providing almost all the features that the web version has (unlike Twitter, where they are trimmed; and not all phones accept m.twitter.com).
- in this regard, the user’s connection is not carried out to anyone, as on Twitter, but to the phone. The user may not have Nick.
- SMS notifications, just like on Twitter, come completely free of charge, and (at least for now) without any restrictions.
- Integration with Google Talk has already been implemented, and in the near future the API will be published and the gates will be screwed to other instant messengers.
- and most importantly - we are not going to stop! The plans include the introduction of location, posting photos via MMS, groups of friends and much more.
