Friendly treatment on sites

    One of the most common mistakes encountered on working sites, in design mockups and in documents, is to abuse a capital letter in a polite "You" address.

    In fact, everything is very simple, and in this regard there is a clear established rule .
    The pronouns “You”, “Your” are capitalized when referring to the same person in the texts of the following genres:
    1. personal message: letter, message on the forum, chat, ICQ, etc. (the recipient is a specific person; in this case, the use of the pronoun “you” instead of “you” is an expression of politeness towards the addressee);
    2. official documents addressed to a particular person;
    3. profiles (addressee - non-specific person).
    When referring to several persons or an indefinite circle of persons (for example, when referring to the readership of a newspaper or magazine, when referring to website visitors , in an ad addressed to a wide circle of people, etc.), the pronouns “you”, “your” are written with a lowercase letter.
    In this case, the appeal "you" in a personal letter to a particular person is not a mistake and is considered copyright use, although it is not the norm.
