Will nVidia buy AMD?

It seems that the market of major iron producers is undergoing major changes. It's no secret that AMD has been experiencing serious difficulties lately, which forces analysts to consider the possible sale of this company. One of the analysts at American Technology Research, Doug Freedman, said AMD’s most likely buyer for its long-time competitor, nVidia.

If this event occurs, then nVidia will reach the level of a competitor to Intel, while virtually monopolizing the video chip market. Competition with Intel is probably good, but monopoly is much worse. I think everyone can conclude why this is bad and what is fraught with the end consumer.

On the other hand, having got AMD / ATI power in its hands, nVidia can reach a whole new level of technological solutions. Well, time will tell.
