Toshiba Unveils Fuel Cell UMPC

Toshiba at CES 2008 showed visitors its booth the new UMPC, which uses a direct methanol fuel cell fuel cell as a power source.

Unfortunately, Toshiba does not provide any additional information about the characteristics of both the UMPC and the fuel cell itself. Visitors to the exhibition could only note that the power of an ultra-mobile PC is enough to work under Windows Vista and that the power supply is not built-in, but external.

Whether the promising device will reach the stage of commercial implementation and when this happens is not yet clear. But the fact that the company works in this direction cannot but rejoice, since the use of fuel cells in various kinds of portable devices can increase their battery life by tens of times.
