Half of Britain's users “communize” neighbors' wireless access to the Network

Sophos senior technical consultant and just the British computer security authority Graham Cluley said that more than half of the people surveyed agreed that they illegally accessed the network via Wi-Fi.

These data were obtained as a result of a study by Sophos of the number of people using other people's WiFi networks without payment. The study showed that 54% of users admitted that they violated the law by using other people's wireless networks without permission.

A Sophos statement said that “residents of many ordinary homes cannot properly secure their wireless networks, forgetting passwords and encryption of the connection, allowing passer-free riders and neighbors to steal access to the network without paying the ISP themselves.” It was also said that it is ordinary home networks, not corporate networks, that suffer from security problems, so "remote workers may be a weak link in corporate protection."
