3GPP LTE: 100Mbps over cellular networks - reality

    Nokia said it had successfully tested its next cellular data network with a download speed of 100Mbps to a user and 50Mbps from a user.

    The initiative to create a new 3GPP LTE data network (3GPP Long Term Evolution) belonged to the leading European telecommunications companies Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, France Telecom / Orange, Nokia, Nokia Siemens Networks, Nortel, T-Mobile and Vodafone, but recently Asian companies joined it China Mobile, Huawei, LG Electronics, NTT DoCoMo, Samsung ...

    The LTE test consists of three main steps: an already successfully completed concept test, network co-operation, and final tests. Joint testing of networks will be completed at the end of 2009, and the initial deployment of the network is scheduled for 2010.
