LJ for trial

For the first time in Russia, a criminal case will be considered upon the publication of a message in LiveJournal. Leaving an unflattering comment on the work of the police on the page of the local journalist Boris Suranov, the Syktyvkar blogger Savva Terentyev came under investigation. After reading his record, the Interior Ministry officials decided that she was an insult to her, and opened a criminal case under the article “Arousal of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity”. And now, for one small message, his author faces at best a fine of 500 minimum wages, and at worst up to four years in prison.
