Hired hackers hacked electronic voting system
The electronic voting system, which is planned to be introduced for the presidential election in the United States, has not passed the “strength test”.
Specialists who were provided with source codes and other documentation for testing, as well as access to the hardware (Sequoia, Hart InterCivic and Diebold are supplying the machines), were able to bypass the protection and change the names of the presidential candidates.
The results of the “hack” will be taken into account, and all the improvements need to be made in a fairly short time - the elections are scheduled for November 4, 2008.
