Nanofootball
In the framework of the annual Robocup World Cup Robot, competitions between super- miniature robots will be held for the first time . The United States National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is participating in their organization. This year the competition will be held outside the main program of the championship, but in 2008 it is planned to organize the corresponding robofootball league.

Nanofootball Fields
Competitions will be held on a chip with sixteen "fields" of size 2.5 x 2.5 mm. Instead of a ball, a silicon dioxide disk with a diameter of 100 microns will be used, and robot players are microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) with a length of 250-300 microns and a mass measured in nanograms (robots are assigned to nanodevices by mass).

The nanocampion program consists of three types. In the first, the robot must score a goal on an empty field as soon as possible. In the second form of competition, you must also score a goal, but already on the field with obstacles, “defenders”. Finally, in the third form of the program you need to score as many goals as possible in three minutes.
Ball
This year, five teams participate in the competition: two from Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA) and one from the US Navy Academy in Annapolis, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and the University.
