Perian - Swiss knife for QuickTime

Last week, the final version of the first version of Perian , a free package of the most popular video codecs for the QuickTime player, was released.

A set of Perian codecs will add QuickTime Player, as well as the programs used with it, support for various media formats: MS-MPEG4 v1 and v2, DivX, 3ivX, H.264, FLV1, FSV1, VP6, H263I, VP3, HuffYUV, FFVHuff, MPEG1 and MPEG2 Video, Fraps, Windows Media Audio v1 and v2, Flash ADPCM, Xiph Vorbis, MPEG Layer II Audio. Perian also provides support for AVI, FLV, MKV, and SSA and SRT subtitles.

In the final version, the work of some codecs was fixed and the installer was improved, thanks to which we now have a convenient package that removes incompatibility issues in the standard Mac OS X player. Well, personally, I had no such questions after installing Perian :)
