Yahoo ’s CEO was co-founder Jerry Yang, who succeeded Terry Semel.
Semel was appointed - at the request of investors - the chairman of the board of directors, but he did not receive executive powers. Other personnel shifts have also occurred: Susan Decker, who previously served as CFO, has now been appointed president of Yahoo.
Investors hope that Jerry Yang will be more successful in business, unlike Semele, who has been criticized several times for not being able to make the company compete more successfully with the market leader Google.
