All week, with one eye, I observe the voluntary experiments of our inquisitive manager. On one of the sections of his hard drive, he installed the latest linux ubuntu distribution . The goal is to check whether this OS can fully replace the usual for all windows managers.

I’ll tell you a secret right away - I could, and quite successfully! In any case, a real formatting threat loomed over the windows partition of the disk. On all the technical aspects of the experiment, he will soon and in more detail write himself. Moreover, he has something to compare, with Mac at his last job.

Watching all these manipulations, I could hardly restrain myself:) ... of course I didn’t set anything for myself. But I will share my impressions of an outside observer.

Since the last time I kept distributing Linux, probably five years or more have passed. Even then, everyone wrote that it became closer, more convenient and more accessible for the average user - in fact (if you evaluate objectively), it was completely impossible to work normally in it.

Today on the computer of our manager, it works successfully - it is a fully mature and complete product. With a user-friendly interface, good fonts and decent graphics from iconfactory and most importantly with a self-contained set of programs.

I don’t know what keeps Adobe from porting its product line to this system (even if for the same money) ... But if it ever happens, Microsoft’s operating systems will be covered in a copper basin and everyone’s favorite product will be company ":).
