About choosing friends.
I will tell you a story about my dad.
My parents divorced when I was 6 years old. Trite "did not agree on the characters." So I remained the only child of my parents. Dad got married again, but Aunt Tanya already had an adult son (it seems 15 years older than me), so that's it.
My dad was the director of a large company, a leader in his field, and he decided to open a representative office in Austria.
Although let's go back in time. The pope has two higher educations - linguistic and economic. When he studied at InYaZ, he lived in the same room as Yura Gavrilov, a guy from Zhlobin (and dad from Molodechno), with whom they naturally became very close friends. I remember how my dad drove me little (about eight years old) to Zhlobin, where I played football with my son Gavrilov.
So, dad was the director of the company, took Gavrilov to him and made him the general director of the Minsk representative office. Not immediately, of course, but he did the same. A friend after all.
And when it was decided to open a representative office in Austria, dad went there to do this, and Gavrilova made director of the entire company. A friend after all.
It seems in the summer of 1997 I went to Austria with my dad. Then Gavrilov also stayed with his family: wife, daughter, son. Dad rented a minibus and made a short tour for us in Austria. I recall this time with nostalgia. Naturally, Dad paid for Gavrilov’s arrival in Austria. A friend after all.
And six months later, Gavrilov handed over his dad and company with all the tax giblets. Now it, by the way, is state-owned. Papa is ordered to return to Belarus because he is being arrested, so for over ten years now he has not come here.
Such a story, such a friendship.
