Environmentally Friendly VAZ

    The discussion that unfolded here on the issue of environmentally friendly transport by global car makers made us recall our domestic experience: in 2001, VAZ introduced something called ANTEL-1 (“A Car On Fuel Elements”)

    ... and in 2003 - ANTEL-2 (on the page this news is almost at the bottom, it is easier to find it by the word "antel").

    The answer to the question “Where did VAZ get the money for such developments?” Will give all the grace of the project: instead of money, the plant had Soviet developments for the shuttle “Buran” (this is described in the first link).
    It didn’t go beyond these prototypes, and, it seems, will not go.
