Robophilia as a sexual orientation

Many science fiction works contain robots, so now it is impossible to imagine the future without humanoid robots. Why would a robot have two arms, two legs, a head? Why would a mechanical device be indistinguishable from man, but not man? The answer is simple and obvious, and has been given many times in quite famous films and books.

If a robot programmed to love and be loved will be much more beautiful and attractive than people, then a situation is possible when some person prefers to be with the robot, and not with other people. This person will live with this robot, talk and even sleep with him, if it will be provided for by the design, not paying attention to the people around him.

But what if we assume the future prevalence of this phenomenon? That a human society that does not prohibit sexual relations with robots will encounter new causes of joy and mental suffering.

Will there come a time when the public will discuss robophilia or propaganda of robophobia? This interesting situation was shown first in the manga (Japanese comics), and then in the form of an anime series shown a couple of years ago in Russia.

A year ago, I commented on this series, drawing attention to this particular social problem. Recently, I found a comment on my comment in the author's column of a magazine.
