Microsoft Word attacks again
Open files sent by e-mail in MS Word format should be opened with caution. Microsoft has announced the discovery of a new vulnerability that allows a hacker to insert malware into a text file by launching malware on an attacked machine, InfoWorld writes .
The vulnerability has received critical status, however, the next Microsoft security update will not be available until December 12. The error affects versions of MS Word 2000, 2002 and 2003, Word Viewer 2003 and some versions of Microsoft Works.
Specialists believe that Microsoft office products currently contain more errors that could be used by cybercriminals than in the operating system itself.
