Belgian newspapers removed from MSN search index
In order not to follow the sad example of Google , the Belgian division of MSN began negotiations with a group of Belgian publishers Copiepresse, dissatisfied with the free use of their content on the pages of search sites.
Until the parties reached an agreement, a group of publishers Copiepresse demanded to stop indexing the agency’s newspapers in French and German. Publishers hope they can persuade MSN to pay compensation, after which the content will reappear on the search site.
A Belgian court has already decided that Google may not use the content without permission. The appeal to this strange verdict will be reviewed on November 24, 2006.
