Yahoo Answers Knowledge Base catches up with Wikipedia
The Yahoo Answers Q & A database has reached the second place on the Internet in terms of attendance among reference sites.
According to Comscore statistics, Yahoo Answers in June 2006 attracted 12.3 million people. This is 35% more than in the previous month, and much more than other expert sites. For comparison, the audience of Google Answers for the same period amounted to only 947 thousand people and decreased by 4% compared with May.
Since the launch of the new version of the site in December 2005, over 30 million questions and answers have been published in the Yahoo Answers database. The system’s work is monitored by regular editors who filter information and delete inappropriate content. The rating system in the style of eBay will be presented soon.
