The film’s script is based on the novel by Sergey Oblomov “The copper jug of old Hottabych.” “But our story is not at all like a famous fairy tale,” the director says. “Moreover, the film has gone far from Oblomov’s novel.”

Khottabycha in the picture was played by Vladimir Tolokonnikov, who became famous in the role of Sharikov in “Dog Heart”.
