Hyperloop TT will build a commercial route in China
Most recently , an article about Hyperloop was published on Habré , which described both the very concept of this vehicle of the future and the companies that implement it. Each of them operates quite actively, albeit with varying success. So, now luck has smiled on the company Hyperloop TT - it has agreed with the Chinese government to build a transport network in one of the provinces.
We are talking about the province of Guizhou, where a 10 km long branch will be created. So far, there are no data on which localities will be connected by this transport line. But the company itself has already confirmed that the route will be more commercial than test.
Actually, test tunnels are built by many companies that are engaged in the development of the Hyperloop concept. But commercial enterprises on this basis have not yet been. It is possible that the project from China will be the first and its developers will try to make money, albeit small funds, as evidence of the economic feasibility of developing the concept as a whole.
In order to fulfill its part of the transaction, the HTT company will launch a subsidiary company whose office will be located in the PRC. This is a fairly common practice for China and companies that enter the market of this country. Working with foreigners directly is not always welcome, so you have to look for ways - and the creation of a subsidiary Chinese company is one of them.
According to the project participants, they will provide "engineering expertise", as well as create the necessary equipment. Apparently, the technology itself Maglev and transport capsules already licensed HTT.
It is noteworthy that, according to the terms of the agreement, the Chinese themselves are building the route, but HTT representatives will provide expertise. Financing of the parties will be divided among themselves in the ratio of 50% / 50%. Half provides the city, half - HTT with the help of investors or crowdfunding.
“China occupies a leading position in the world in terms of the length of high-speed rail transport over long distances. Now the Chinese authorities are looking for a more efficient way to transport using the technology of the “hyperloop” [vacuum pipeline], ”said the chairman of the HTT board of directors Bebop Gresta.
According to the Chinese authorities, the new highway will allow to solve a number of complex problems associated with vehicles in the specified region. 10 km is only the beginning, if the route shows itself well (that is, it gives a profit and will be relatively trouble-free), then the network of Hyperloop tunnels will be expanded.
