Foursquare social geoservice stepped into space
Well-known to many, the Foursquare geoservice took one small but very important step. Step into space. Together with NASA, this social network now provides the opportunity to receive a new NASA Explorer badge for visiting the international space station.
The first person to receive the badge was the astronaut Douglas H. Wheelock, which can be found on his twitter :
As reported on the Foursquare blog, every new visitor to the station will be able to receive such a badge.
In my opinion a landmark event. Social networks go into orbit. Who knows, maybe a visit to outer space will become a commonplace already this century with the help of private orbital flights?
