A woman drove into the lake on the GPS-navigator

Excessive reliance on technology can bring trouble. In her example, this was proved by a 23-year-old Canadian citizen who strictly followed the instructions of a GPS navigator and drove her Toyota Yaris straight into Lake Huron.

According to the newspaper Toronto Sun , the incident occurred on the night of May 12 to 13 in the city of Tobermory, Ontario.

For obvious reasons, the girl asked not to call her name.

A resident of a nearby Kitchener was riding at night in conditions of poor visibility and fog. Around midnight, the navigator instructed her to roll onto a slip for boats, which descends directly into the Georgian Bay of Lake Huron.

Police Constable Katrina Rubinstein-Gilbert (Katrina Rubinstein-Gilbert) explained that the car remained afloat long enough for the driver to lower the glass, take the handbag and swim about 30 meters to the shore. After that, the girl went to the nearest hotel and called the police.

At this time, the car itself was completely submerged to a depth of several meters.

The Trenton Rescue Co-ordination Center Emergency Center promptly sent a message to the boats not to approach the pier, and an operation to rescue the vehicle was organized with the local police.

    The operation completed successfully .

The constable said that the girl-car enthusiast was not injured and did not even show symptoms of hypothermia, although she spent several minutes in the water at 4 ° C. She was completely sober. The police have not filed any charges.
