Founder of Virtus.pro became the owner of the business of equipment for the interception and storage of traffic
Founder Virtus.pro Cherepennikov Anton
Anton Cherepennikov founder eSports organization Virtus.pro, in which businessman Alisher Usmanov has invested $ 100 million in 2015, became the sole owner of the company "Basis lab," reported "Vedomosti". About the redemption of shares of other shareholders, Yegor Falileev and Dmitry Zolotukhin, Cherepennikov himself told the publication.
Osnova Lab is engaged in the development of software and hardware for systems of operational search activities (SORM). Now, according to the current legislation, telecom operators install similar hardware systems on their channels for interception and storage of information for a period of 12 hours.
State technical experts call the use of SORM systems as one of the ways to implement the anti-terrorism package of the Yarovaya-Ozerov laws. Earlier, Osnova Lab was negotiating the purchase of MFI Soft, a developer of information security systems, Internet traffic filtering systems and SORM. On the basis of these two companies can be created production, which will be aimed at meeting the needs of telecom operators, providers and IT companies in equipment for the implementation of the norms of the package of laws of Yarovo-Ozerov.
The representative of the USM stressed that Cherepennikov is precisely the partner of the holding in the field of eSports (and not a subordinate or employee of the USM - Ed.). At the same time, the holding said that USM had invested "in a fund that funds the creation of IT companies in the field of integration and IT consulting, in which Anton is the managing partner."
Alisher Usmanov is famous for his talent as an investor. The businessman has not once successfully invested in technology companies, for example, in Facebook and Alibaba, the cost of which, when going public, several years later exceeded the estimated one at the time of Usmanov’s entry with his money as an investor.
The last major investment by Usmanov was, among other things, the investment in Virtus.pro. The businessman made a bet that, over time, eSports can become the “second media”. It is quite possible that here the businessman turned out to be right: the online broadcast of the final of the Major by CS: GO, in which Virtus.pro and Astralis were fighting for the title of champion, was watched by 1.26 million people. It is noted that many awards and titles of the organization could play a significant role: such details attract Usmanov, who has a stake in FC Arsenal, one of the most titled English football clubs.
