Ministry of Communications estimated the costs of sites for the implementation of the law of Spring

    The Ministry of Communications and Communications of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft order on the requirements for equipment and software and hardware, which organizers of information dissemination (ORI) should use to implement the “Law of Spring”, writes Kommersant.

    The order will include instant messengers, social networks, dating sites and other online services. Today, there are 98 companies in the Register of Information Distributors , and the number of sites and services exceeds 100. Among them are VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Yandex, Rambler, Mail.Ru, Snapchat, Telegram, Vimeo, Habrahabr and others.

    In accordance with the decision of the government of the Russian Federation, they are required to keep records of conversations, messages, images, videos and other user data for six months and provide them at the request of special services.

    According to the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media, the cost of implementing the Law of Spring for Internet companies with 500,000 active users will be about 20 million rubles. An example is the Rambler Group. Its costs will amount to 10.9 million rubles. one-time, as well as 120 thousand rubles. per month. According to officials, this is not a very significant cost, which is less than previously thought.

    Items of additional expenses of "Habrahabr" and other services registered in the registry, according to the draft order:

    • increase the server park;
    • switches;
    • software and hardware for operational investigative activities (SORM);
    • software development.

    Of course, smaller companies will have lower costs than Rambler.

    The evaluation of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media was carried out with the help of experts from Norsi-Trans. This company will sell certified SORM systems to Internet companies. The price of a separate hardware and software system for storing information will be from 3.5 million to 18.3 million rubles, and a module on top of the company's existing information systems will cost from 750 thousand to 1.8 million rubles.
