The developers of a number of companies created the Expert Council of the gaming industry (ESII)
Developers from Mail.Ru Group, Riot Games CIS, Wargaming and other companies created the Expert Council for the gaming industry . It included such people as Ilya Karpinsky (Mail.ru), Vyacheslav Makarov (Wargaming), Alexey Krainov (Riot Games CIS), Anton Yudintsev (Gaijin Entertaiment), Orlovsky Sergey (Nival).
The Council has many goals. The main ones are the improvement in the quality of games created in the region, the support of developers and the development of e-sports.
The gaming market in the CIS region is considered one of the fastest growing in the world. According to NewZoo statistics for 2014, the Russian game market took the 12th place in the world and showed quite serious growth. The Russian-speaking gaming audience is estimated at almost 40 million players, a significant part of whom are willing to spend money on games.
The Council has not yet been finalized. You can apply for membership on the organization’s website.
We asked the director of Riot Games CIS Alexey Krainov how Riot sees its own role in the structure of the ESII and which of its goals it considers to be priority:
The development of professional e-sports. First of all, an impetus is necessary for the development of professional e-sports organizations, the application of the best management practices from traditional sports in order to prepare professional teams and
achieve high results: team economy management, psychological training, physiotherapy.
Professional computer sport is a vivid and fascinating sight, a real sports confrontation with all the attributes of the manifestation of support for one of the competing teams and the art of individual skills of the players.
To create and develop e-sports media content to the level of world sports standards, you need to find, develop and support talented authors, commentators and enthusiasts. Semi-professional competitions should create healthy competition and rotation within the professional e-sports scene, be a scouting platform for finding new talents.
It is important to develop all segments of computer sports, and not just the professional scene. Amateur tournaments, student leagues, school competitions are necessary to create a diverse competitive environment for all levels of players.
On the one hand, a player or a team who wants to prove their high skills should have a chance to challenge the professionals, this requires regular semi-professional competitions. With another gaming community, you need a tool to create tournaments of
varying degrees of duration and difficulty in order to find your “comfortable” level. Passion for video games should bring pleasure from participating in competitions and emotional relaxation from watching the game.
