The 10-second openings of Silicon Valley included a mass of easter eggs on the history of IT
Mike Judge, the creator of the animated series "Beavis and Butthead" (both speak in his voice), the director and screenwriter of "Idiocracy", in 2013 began shooting the series "Silicon Valley". At the pilot training stage, he learned that he only has 10 seconds to open.
Together with the co-founders of the project, he figured out how to use this time as efficiently as possible: for a ten-second video, you can study the story because of the large number of references to real events.

In 2014, the first release of the series “Silicon Valley” , a comedy story about business in the same district of San Francisco, was released. The series talks about young programmers who are starting to do business.
Mike Judge and Alec Berg worked on the opening together with the design company yU + co. Judge's first idea was to show the construction of a corporate office in the form of the inscription “Silicon Valley”, and the designers suggested adding logos of real-life companies. The combination of two visions led to the creation of a “construction site” on fast forward - this became the basis for the video.
In the first opening, there were about 20 company logos. The SGI logo (Silicon Graphics, Inc.), founded in 1982 by a manufacturing companygraphic terminals - in 2009, the company was abolished. At the Intel building nothing changes. A huge blue MySpace logo was torn down, replaced by a small gray. The Napster balloon took off, was blown away and fell, reminding of a lawsuit lost by the company in 2000 from the Metallica group. Apple is building a campus. The logos of AOL, Twitter, Oracle, Facebook, HP, Yahoo !, Google, Twitter, eBay, Adobe, Google Chrome, and Android are visible.
The opening season of the second season talked about Facebook's purchase of WhatsApp and Oculus companies : the logos of these two companies appear in the upper left corner, which then replaces the logo of the social network. Instead of a Napster balloon, we see the Uber balloon . At the Yahoo office, you can see how people are blocking the company's bus - a reference to the April 2014 incident in Oakland. Mike Judge said that the team had the idea to add SpaceX - but then they refused it, because the company is based in Los Angeles, and it has no connection with the valley, except for the name of Ilon Mask.
In the third season, the authors of the series did not change the traditions. Amazon drones appeared in the opening , delivering champagne bottles to a party on the roof of a building. A person climbs on the Twitter logo to jump off with a golden parachute - a reference to Dick Costolo, who received $ 11 million after leaving the company. For the first time in the video, the Tesla logo appears .
On the building Google installed huge letters Alphabet . In 2015, this holding was founded, and Google came under its management.
In addition to the balloon Uber, a balloon with a Lyft logo appeared, a smaller one, but trying to push a competitor . Yahoo! logo diminished, and a huge shield of the Alibaba Group appeared on the same building.
At the end of the video a truck with Soylent passes by the Facebook building - and in the upper left corner you can see where it is being spilled.
The series has already been extended for the 4th season. New Easter eggs will be added to the opening, for example, about Snapchat and Netflix. And he probably will have to look at the replay even longer to see them.
